SDUT held a deployment meeting for meeting the special verification of authorized degree-granting programs in the report hall of Hongyuan Buildingon the morning of October 20th. The meeting was presided over by CONG Hailin, Vice President and Member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee, and President LI Yuxia attended and addressed the meeting.
Personnel from the Graduate Affairs Office conveyed instructions in the Notice of the Work of 2023 Special Verification of Authorized Degree-granting Programs issued by the Academic Degrees Committee of the State Council and the Ministry of Education (MOE), and made specific deployments for the special verification work.
President LI Yuxia made clear three requirements for the special verification work.
Firstly, we must fully comprehend the importance of the verification and make it the center of all work. The result of the special verification will not only affect the reputation of SDUT, the survival of the authorized programs, but also serves as an important data for the government to plan the national graduate enrollment and the increase of degree programs. We all must keep this in mind and make every effort to achieve it.
Secondly, we must make clear the responsibilities and ensure the quality and quantity of the work. The time for the special verification preparation work is quite limited. Each unit should first carefully study the policy and requirements, refine work division, clarify work responsibilities, so as to accurately finish each step; second fully communicate and exchange with the experts and timely report to them. Meanwhile, all must present the verification materials with high standards and high quality to ensure that all programs successfully pass the verification.
Thirdly, we must refine the features of each unit and optimize the layout. We should take the verification as an opportunity to find shortcomings, project the features, optimize the structure and layout of degree programs, as well as further strengthen the construction of degree programs and disciplines, thus, comprehensively improve the level of graduate education and the quality of talent cultivation.
