The 60th Higher Education Expo China, sponsored by the Chinese Association of Higher Education, was held in Qingdao from October 12 to 14. There was an exhibition zone especially for Shandong Province, which offered showcases for a total of 59 colleges and universities from Shandong province to present their overall image and cultural characteristics. SDUT presented the exposition and demonstrated her achievements. Hu Xingyu, Secretary of the Party Committee of SDUT, and Cui Huanyong, Standing Committee member of the Party Committee and vice president of SDUT presented at the zone, along with about 300 faculty and staff members and over 50 students from 25 schools and relevant departments.
In order to demonstrate her teaching and scientific innovation achievements, SDUT made a specific deployment. To wholly present her practice and achievements in talent cultivation, Smart Education, teacher’s quality, industry-education integration and other respects, the Office of Academic Affairs, Office of Science and Technology made elaborate preparations, including exhibition panels, brochures, exhibits, performances, etc., together with Student Affair Department, Youth League Committee, Office of Cooperation and Development, School of Innovation and Entrepreneurship, School of Music and other departments. Meanwhile, SDUT specifically introduced the outcome of six projects such as multi-level testing technology and testing equipment for the whole process of high-power wind turbine blades.
During the exhibition, China Education Online conducted an exclusive interview and a live broadcast of SDUT, focusing on the characteristics and highlights of talent training. The exhibit stand of SDUT attracted a large number of faculty members, outstanding alumni, and visitors from some brother universities and colleges.
After visiting the SDUT’s exhibit stand, Hu Xingyu concluded that it was of high necessity to strengthen exchanges and communications with other colleges and universities, to further improve the quality of teaching and scientific innovation, and make continuous efforts to strengthen superior disciplines and serve local development, thus promoting the high-quality development of university.
Cui Huanyong attended the 2nd College Science and Technology Innovation Forum. At the forum, SDUT signed an agreement with Qingdao DORIGHT Energy-saving Equipment Co., Ltd. to jointly build Institute of Energy-saving Equipment Research.
Representatives of SDUT participated in the 8th China Higher Education Smart Teaching and Classroom Teaching Reform Forum. At the forum, SDUT was awarded as Integrated Platform of Teaching and Management demonstration base. There was only one other organization which got the award.
The representative of faculty from Shandong Vocational Education and Industrial Talent Research Institute participated in the High-quality Development Forum of Vocational Education and the inaugural ceremony of the Shared Community of Integration Between Industry and Education of National Marine Lives and Health. SDUT was elected as the vice president of it.
The innovative music Song of Harmonizing of Qin and Se, which is a kind of Shao music of Qi State, choreographed by the SDUT’s Research Center of Qi State’s Elegant Music, was selected as the special performance in Shandong exhibition zone.
With the theme of Integration between vocational education and general education, Integration between industry and education, Integration between science and education, the Expo has launched three major sections: high-tech equipment exhibition, high-level forum, informatization and high-end results release. With an area of more than 120,000 square meters, the Expo attracted over 6,000 enterprises, 1,500 colleges and universities, and more than 100,000 offline visitors.
