Engr. Jorifa Khatun is a distinguished professional at the Bangladesh Power Development Board (BPDB), specializing in both renewable and non-renewable energy generation planning. In 2008, she earned a Master’s Degree in Renewable Energy from the University of Oldenburg, Germany, as part of a German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) scholarship program. Since returning to BPDB, she has held various leadership positions, including Director of the Directorate of System Planning. Her expertise extends to power demand modeling, greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions assessment modelling, and least-cost generation expansion planning.
Jorifa has actively participated in the preparation of Bangladesh's Nationally Determined Contributions (NDC) to the UNFCCC, contributing as a member of the Core Working Group.
Currently, she is Director of the Directorate of Independent Power Producers (IPP CELL3), where she is involved in contract management in Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) for Independent Power Producers and Power Supply Agreements with India and Nepal for power import.
Jorifa Khatun工程师是孟加拉国电力发展委员会（BPDB）的一位杰出专业人士，专注于可再生能源与非可再生能源发电规划。2008年，获得德国学术交流中心（DAAD）奖学金，赴德国奥尔登堡大学（University of Oldenburg）攻读可再生能源专业硕士学位。学成回国后，在BPDB担任多个领导职务，包括系统规划局局长。专业领域涵盖电力需求建模、温室气体（GHG）排放评估建模以及最低成本发电扩容规划。
积极参与了孟加拉国向《联合国气候变化框架公约》（UNFCCC）提交的国家自主贡献（NDC）文件的编制工作，并作为核心工作组成员作出重要贡献。目前，担任独立发电商管理局（IPP CELL3）局长，负责管理与独立发电商（IPP）签订的购电协议（PPA），以及与印度和尼泊尔签署的电力进口供电协议。
