In the evening of September 10th, 2016, the concert was held in the University Art Center Auditorium with the theme of “In Praise of Teachers in Qi Cultural Tradition and Shao Musical Style” to celebrate the 32nd Teachers’ Day and to send sincere greetings to teachers.
University leaders presented awards to outstanding representatives of teachers,administrators and class instructors respectively. Dr. TAN Derong, on the behalf of the awarded teachers, gave many thanks for the school’s affirmation and encouragement. He was sincerely pleased to witness the quick development of the university, saying that teachers’ fundamental duties are to impart knowledge and educate students, and teachers themselves should also improve themselves constantly so as to be students’ good mentors and helpful friends. He stressed that the mission of the teachers was to cultivate students to meet social challenges, and to contribute their intelligence and wisdom for the development of the university.

The concert demonstrated local characteristics of Qi culture as well as the style of Shao music with the following programs: The harmonious folkloric ensemble of “Booming Flowers and A Full Moon”; a mellow PiPa solo of “Singing a Folk Song to the Party”; a melodious violin solo of “Why Are the Flowers So Red”; a lively female chorus of “We Set Foot on the Path in the Early Morning”; a cheerful duet of “Dragon Boat Tune”; two magnificent instrumental ensembles of “Green Mountain” and “The Grand Mansion Gate” and the last performance of “We Love China” in chorus.
