On March 14th, the performance evaluation meeting was held in Zibo Qisheng International Hotel on the “Research on Key Technologies for Clean Energy and High-Value Utilization of Village and Town Biomass Resources”, the first national key research and development (R&D) program headed by SDUT. CUI Huanyong, a member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee and vice president of SDUT, attended the meeting and delivered a speech.
Experts from Tianjin University of Commerce, the Institute of Remote Sensing and Digital Earth of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the Agricultural Ecology and Resources Protection Station of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, and other units of the overall expert group of green, livable villages, as well as project consulting experts attended the meeting. The program director, Professor YI Weiming, the project leaders and R&D team members from the Guangzhou Institute of Energy Conversion of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Chengdu Institute of Biology of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and Henan Academy of Sciences, relevant heads of Science and Technology Division and School of Agricultural Engineering and Food Science, as well as some teachers and students’ representatives participated in the meeting.
CUI Huanyong introduced the scientific research, teaching staff and talent training of SDUT to the participants, focusing on the “183522” overall goal and work ideas outlined at the Fourth Party Congress of SDUT, and said that SDUT would further advance applied basic research, gather advantageous resources, strengthen organized scientific research, and improve the ability and level to undertake major national projects and serve major national strategies, as well as accelerate the pace of building first-class disciplines.
Prof. YI Weiming reported to the expert group on the overall situation of the program. The four project leaders provided detailed reports on the completion of task indicators, work achievements, and funding utilization of each project.
After listening to reports from research groups, reviewing relevant materials, and inquiring and discussing relevant issues, the expert group all believed that each project had successfully completed the assessment indicators and achieved the expected results and fully recognized the important achievements made by each project.
The “Research on Key Technologies for Clean Energy and High-Value Utilization of Village and Town Biomass Resources” program was launched in November 2019. The research teams have developed four key technologies around rural biomass resources, including “Straw Hydrothermal Catalytic Refining Technology for Alcohol Hydrocarbon Fuels”, “Self-heating Straw High-efficiency Pyrolysis and Liquefaction and Bio-oil Upgrading Technology”, “Biologically-enhanced Straw High-concentration Mixing and Fermentation for Co-production of Charcoal-based Organic Fertilizers”, and “Straw Roasting and Upgrading to Prepare Clean Molding Fuel Co-production Activated Carbon Technology”, and has established 11 demonstration projects, which have achieved remarkable social and economic benefits, and have made significant contributions to optimizing the energy supply and consumption structure of towns and villages, improving the rural ecological environment, and constructing livable villages and towns.
