On June 3rd, the seminar on the construction and team development of “grand ideological and political courses”in universities in the new era was held in Qisheng International Hotel. More than 50 experts and scholars from the field of Marxist theory and ideological and political education across the country conducted in-depth discussions on the theme of “Promoting the integration and development of ideological and political work teams in universities and enhancing their abilities to comprehensively build ‘grand ideological and political courses’”.
The seminar was co-hosted by the Institute of Ideological and Political Work of Beijing Normal University, School of Marxism of SDUT, and the Shandong Research Base for Teachers’ Development of Ideological and Political Theory Courses in Colleges and Universities based in SDUT. HU Xingyu, secretary of the Party Committee of SDUT, attended the opening ceremony and delivered a speech. Professor FENG Gang, former director of the Department of Ideological and Political Work of the Ministry of Education and president of the Institute of Ideological and Political Work of Beijing Normal University, delivered a speech and keynote report. YANG Yun, deputy secretary of the Party Committee of SDUT, presided over the opening ceremony.
HU Xingyu pointed out in his speech that the organization of this symposium was a powerful initiative to implement the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important exposition, promote the construction of “grand ideological and political courses” and the development of the ideological and political work teams in colleges and universities in the new era. He believed that through the convergence of expert insights, we would be able to promote the construction of the “grand ideological and political courses” system better and faster, and to implement further the fundamental task of fostering virtue and cultivating talents in colleges and universities.
FENG Gang made a keynote report titled “Theory and Practice of Deepening the Construction of ‘Grand Ideological and Political Courses’ in Universities in the New Era”, analyzing the situation and tasks faced by the construction of “grand ideological and political courses”, and proposing practical measures and basic paths to promote the construction of “grand ideological and political courses”.
The seminar was divided into four stages to carry out thematic discussions. Twenty-eight experts and scholars from Peking University, Wuhan University, Chongqing Normal University, Jilin University and other colleges and universities across China launched keynote reports around the concept, objectives, connotation, elements, path, direction, methods, mechanisms and other issues of the “ideological and political course” in colleges and universities. This seminar was coherent and compact, with brilliant views. Experts and scholars from all walks of life took the construction of “big ideological and political courses” as a handhold, actively explored the path, expanded the working pattern, and offered advice and suggestions for cultivating newcomers of the times who can take on the heavy responsibility of national rejuvenation.
