On the afternoon of July 13th, SDUT held a work summary of the first half of 2023 & summer vacation deployment meeting in the lecture hall of the No. 3 Teaching Building. The meeting comprehensively summarized the work of the first half of 2023, summed up experience and deficiencies, arranged key works for the summer vacation, and continued to promote the work in depth.
University leaders HU Xingyu, LI Yuxia, DENG Changliang, YANG Yun, CHEN Shengwei, and CHEN Jing attended the meeting. Special assistants to the president, all middle-level cadres, members of the academic committee of SDUT, and directors of the professor committee of each academic school participated in the meeting. HU Xingyu, Secretary of the Party Committee of SDUT, presided over the meeting.
President LI Yuxia summarized the work of the first half of 2023 and arranged and deployed the work of summer vacation.
LI Yuxia said that summer vacation was a key period when we could re-think, re-plan, and further promote the work of the second half year. We need to focus on six aspects of work: Firstly, we should spare no effort to advance the application for the approval for the doctoral program. Secondly, we should do a solid job in undergraduate teaching auditing and assessment. Thirdly, we should make every effort to organize, declare, and follow up on every project. Fourthly, we should continue attracting and nurturing talent. Fifthly, we should fully prepare for enrollment, employment, as well as the education, management, and services for summer detention students. Sixthly, we should do a good job of logistics support.
HU Xingyu made a speech, communicating with the conferee from three aspects.
He reviewed and summarized the work of the Party Committee of SDUT in the first half year from four aspects.
Regarding the key work of summer vacation, HU stressed that we need to promote the work tightly, firmly, and effectively focus on ten aspects. Firstly, we should continue to deepen thematic education. Secondly, we should do a solid job in teaching auditing and assessmentof undergraduate education. Thirdly, we should continue to promote the cultivation and construction of doctoral programs. Fourthly, we should strengthen talentrecruitment and complete evaluation and employment of professional titles. Fifthly, we should vigorously promote reform in key areas. Sixthly, we should continue to promote student employment and enrollment. Seventhly, we should earnestly carry out warning-education-month campaigns of Party conduct and clean government. Eighthly, we should strengthen the construction of key platforms. Ninthly, we should spare no effort to promote all kinds of application and assessments. Lastly, we should organize the summer vacation seminar.
Focusing on the summer work and solidly promoting the work of the whole year, HU put forward five requirements for Party members and cadres.
Firstly, we should be loyal to duty and fulfill our mission. Party members and cadres should strengthen the sense of mission, act by the theme of “cause first and success first” and put more thought and energy into work and development. They should also perform their duties well, shoulder their missions, and better play an exemplary role.
Secondly, we should take active steps and dare to take our responsibility. We should establish a correct view of performance, have astrong sense of responsibility, and constantly enhance the sense of mission and consciousness of knowing and taking responsibilities. We should not retreat but act boldly in the face of difficulties and risks. We should not back down just because of difficulties, and we should never shirk responsibilities just because of risks.
Thirdly, we should be brave and persevere to strive to perform first-class work. We should adhere to high standards of work goals, focus on work tasks, moderately advance planning, and design goals with the concept of “jump to reach”. We should also not lie on our laurels.
Fourthly, we should forge ahead with innovation. Party members and cadres should highlight the key points, be good at sorting out the clues from the complicated work, have a comprehensive outlook, and grasp the main contradictions and main aspects of contradictions from the complicated affairs. It was necessary to focus on the implementation of key work and main work, find the key points, identify the breakthrough, and achieve comprehensive improvement through key breakthroughs.
Fifthly, we should spare no pains to implement the plans. We should refine and break down the targets and tasks, formulate specific work measures in a comprehensive and detailed way, manage comprehensively, advance on schedule, and implement precisely to finish the “last mile” of implementation according to the requirements of turning work into projects, making projects accountable, and listing responsibilities clearly.
