The Shandong Teaching Innovation Competition is the only one approved by the Ministry of Education, and enlisted in the List of Retained Evaluation, Appraisal, Assessment and Competition Items for Directly-Affiliated Institutions of the Ministry of Education. And it is also the only one open to faculty members across all disciplines, majors, and professional ranks.A total of 14 faculty members (or teams) from SDUT turned award winners this year, and 2 of them were recommended to participate in the National Teaching Innovation Competition, which marked the fourth consecutive year that SDUT had won qualification for the national competition.

SDUT has attached great importance to the enhancement of faculty teaching innovation capabilities, and organized relevant departments to formulate the Faculty Capacity Enhancement Action Plan. The Academic Affairs Office strictly implemented the plan and developed detailed implementation procedures, actively mobilizing and carefully organizing faculty participation in the competition. Schools and colleges of SDUT all devoted to the plan, and a collaborative mechanism between the Faculty Development Centers of university-level and school-level has thus formed, which facilitated the participating faculty members to prepare for the competition. In the near future, SDUT will continue to implement the fundamental task of fostering virtue through education, persistently push forward innovation in education and teaching, advance the “student-centered” teaching paradigm reform, and achieve the result of improving teaching quality, stimulating reforms, and enhancing faculty competence through teaching competitions. SDUT will further encourage faculty to innovate teaching models, continuously improve their teaching capabilities, improve the quality of talent cultivation, andpropel SDUT towards high-quality development.
