Recently, Ministry of Education has released the 2024 List of Registered and Approved Undergraduate Programs for Regular Higher Education Institutions. Three undergraduate programs proposed by SDUT—“Integrated Circuit Design and Integrated Systems”, “Digital Economy”, and “Financial Technology”—have been approved for establishment. These programs are strategically designed to cultivate top-notch innovative talents and address critical talent needs, which will commence enrollment in 2025.
Digital economy is a strategically prioritized emerging industry in Shandong Province with strong growth momentum. The Digital Economy program aligns with the demands of industrial transformation in the digital era. Established within the School of Economics, it aims to cultivate talents with excellent humanistic qualities, innovative thinking, and a broad international perspective, who possess solid knowledge in economics, management and digital technology, and are proficient in cutting-edge fields such as big data analysis, artificial intelligence applications, and blockchain technology. Graduates will be able to engage in data analysis, business model innovation, and digital strategic planning in areas like digital finance, intelligent manufacturing, and cross-border e-commerce.
The Financial Technology program is established to meet the growing demand for interdisciplinary talents driven by the digital transformation of the financial industry. Through interdisciplinary integration and leveraging the strengths of the School of Economics’ financial discipline, it aims to cultivate students with an international perspective, who master interdisciplinary knowledge such as software programming, big data, blockchain, and artificial intelligence, systematically grasp theoretical knowledge in economics, finance, and modern information technology, and are familiar with financial practice operations. These talents will be capable of applying cutting-edge technologies like big data technology analysis methods and artificial intelligence to modern financial services, and possess both financial literacy and technological skills to become cross-disciplinary innovative professionals in financial applications.
The Integrated Circuit Design and Integrated System program is oriented towards the national strategic needs. It aims to cultivate high-quality talents with an international perspective, who possess core knowledge of analog, digital, and radio frequency integrated circuits and system design, and have excellent engineering practice abilities and an innovative spirit. Affiliated with the School of Physics and Optoelectronic Engineering, the program emphasizes both fundamental theories and practical applications, and promotes collaborative education between the university and enterprises. Graduates can pursue careers in research and development, design, and management in fields such as integrated circuit design and integrated system development.
