Recently, the Ministry of Education issued the list of the 3rd batch of National First-class Undergraduate Courses. A total of 13 courses offered by SDUT made the list, including 8 online-offline hybrid first-class courses, 3 offline first-class courses, 1 social practice first-class course and 1 virtual simulation experiment teaching first-class course. In terms of both the number and proportion of selected courses this time, SDUT ranks among the top among provincial universities with doctoral programs. To date, the total number of national first-class undergraduate courses at SDUT has reached 25.

In recent years, guided by the “Double Ten Thousand Plan” for first-class undergraduate courses initiated by the Ministry of Education, SDUT has fully implemented the Implementation Plan for the Construction of First-Class Undergraduate Courses. By launching educational reform project at both university and college level, the university has fostered new concepts for curriculum development, and actively promoted curriculum reform and innovation in line with the criteria of high-level, innovation and challenge. These efforts have covered multiple dimensions including curriculum-based ideological and political education, teaching objectives, teaching content and methods, process-oriented assessment, and teaching team building. SDUT has strived to enhance the connotative construction and high-quality development of courses, and established a relatively sound four-tier system for first-class curriculum construction, which covers national, provincial, university and college levels. Meanwhile, the university regularly arranges exchanges and guidance sessions with experts from both on and off campus, so as to enhance the quality of curriculum construction and facilitate the replication and promotion of excellent teaching experience.

SDUT will continue toleverage the exemplary and leading role of its national first-class courses, deepen the reform of the “student-centered” teaching paradigm, strengthen the development of “Artificial Intelligence +” demonstration courses and digital textbooks, and constantly enrich high-quality curriculum resources. These efforts will contribute more to comprehensively improving the quality of education and teaching, and promoting the connotative development of talent cultivation.
