Golden autumn, a season of hopes. On the morning of September 16th, SDUT held its 2025 matriculation ceremony at the Central Stadium on the West Campus. The university extended a warm welcome to over 11,800 freshmen from all over the country, who embarked on a new life journey filled with aspirations and hopes.
MA Xiaolei, Secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Zibo Municipal Committee, and YU Hongbo, Secretary of the CPC SDUT Committee, attended the ceremony and delivered speeches. Those attending the ceremony included LI Junjie, Member of the Standing Committee and Secretary-General of the CPC Zibo Municipal Committee; LIN Heng, Member of the Standing Committee, Director of the Publicity Department and Secretary of the CPC Zibo Municipal Education Working Committee; BI Hongwei, Vice Mayor of Zibo Municipal People’s Government; as well as SDUT leaders SU Shoubo, DU Fangling, NIE Faliang, GUO Qingbing, CHEN Jing, and PANG Qiuxiang.Amid the majestic national anthem and a solemn flag-raising ceremony, the ceremony officially began.

YU Hongbo, on behalf of all the faculty and students,expressed sincere gratitude to the CPC Zibo Municipal Committee for its long-standing and vigorous support for the university. He also extended a warm welcome and heartfelt congratulations to the freshmen of the year.He stated that university life is a critical stage for personal growth and a crucial period for the formation of one’s worldview, outlook on life and values. He shared three hopes for all freshmen:First, solidify their ideals and beliefs, and firmly anchor the course of their lives. He encouraged them to integrate patriotic sentiments, aspirations to strengthen the nation, and actions to serve the country into their daily studies and future careers, allowing their ideals and beliefs to be elevated through struggle and their youth to shine through innovation and creation. Second, commit to all-round development and strive to hone their skills. They should cultivate noble character, study diligently, maintain physical and mental health, nurture aesthetic appreciation, develop a habit of working hard, and strive to become well-rounded young people of the times, laying a solid foundation for their youthful journey ahead.Third, have the courage to strive and persevere and let the brilliance of youth shine brightly. By cultivating an optimistic attitude and forging an indomitable will, they should face difficulties and setbacks bravely, grow through adversity, and live up to their self-improvement and tenacious efforts, so as to shine the most splendid light of youth through persistent struggle.
ZHANG Leian, professor of the School of Mechanical Engineering, spoke on behalf of all faculty members. Drawing from his own academic and professional experiences, he encouraged students to learn to “take root” and ground themselves in knowledge; dare to “embrace trial and error” and discover their passion through exploration; maintain “resilience” and grow stronger through setbacks; and uphold a sense of“responsibility” by integrating personal ideals into the development of the times. He urged them to grow into outstanding young people with a spark in their eyes, a dream in their hearts, strength in their steps, and a sense of responsibility on their shoulders.
ZHANG Beiyi, an undergraduate student of the Class of 2025 from the School of Management, spoke on behalf of all freshmen. She shared four messages to encourage her peers: “Uphold Convictions and Pursue Youthful Dreams”, “Engage in Practice and Gather Youthful Energy”, “Dare to Try and Live Up to Youth Days”, and “Keep Striving and Brighten the Essence of Youth”. She claimed that they would set great aspirations of serving and strengthening the nation, become strivers who step forward with responsibility, and move forward hand in hand so as to contribute their youthful strength to the development of SDUT and the building of a strong nation.
Municipal officials and SDUT leaders pinned SDUT school badges on the representatives of the Class of 2025.
Led by ZHAO Qianzhi, an undergraduate of the Class of 2025 from the School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, all freshmen solemnly swore an oath.
MA Xiaolei, on behalf of the Zibo Municipal Party Committee and Municipal Government, extended a warm welcome and sincere congratulations to the freshmen. He said that Zibo is a warm and distinctive city, characterized by kind people, fine products, and united spirits. Its goodness lies in the generosity, modesty, simplicity, and sincerity of its people; its beauty stems from abundant resources and unique craftsmanship; and its unity is reflected in people’s aspiration for progress and cohesive spirit. He expressed his hope that everyone would come and savor the city slowly.Zibo, where ancient charm and modern style interweave, is a city with stories and appeal. Blessed with a rich cultural heritage and scenic landscapes, it provides abundant scenes for experiential learning and a leisurely lifestyle. He hoped that everyone would immerse themselves in it and draw nourishment from it.Zibo, brimming with dynamic energy and vitality, is a city that understands and cherishes its youth. It is committed to building an excellent platform for entrepreneurship and employment, fostering a favorable ecosystem for innovation, and creating a livable and workable environment. He hoped that everyone would join in and grow together with the city.Choosing a university means choosing a city; Choosing SDUT means choosing Zibo. With Zibo currently in a critical period of high-quality development, he hoped that the students would study diligently, root themselves in Zibo, dedicated themselves to the city’s development, empower Zibo’s growth, and let their youth shine through hard work and perseverance.
The ceremony ended successfully with the resounding and inspiring SDUT anthem “You Accompany Me”.
Others present at the ceremony were personnel of Zibo Municipal Bureau of Education, heads of functional departments of SDUT, deans of all schools and colleges, directors in charge of student affairs, freshman counselors, and all students of the 2025 Grade.
